In a dream I saw a demon attacking a loved one. I pointed at the demon and exclaimed, "I bind you in Jesus name!"
The demon fell to the ground!
I went to my loved one and began praying for her. As I was praying for her I could see this demon wiggling out of the spiritual binds I placed on it in Jesus name.
I yelled, "Oh no you don't!!" and ran toward that evil spirit as fast as I could. I slid into it like I was sliding into home base. I put my finger in its face and shouted, "I BIND YOU IN JESUS NAME!!!"
This black Gullom looking spirit suddenly grabbed at its throat & began gasping, choking & panicking, eyes bulging in FEAR. It could not breath, or speak.
The command in Jesus name was binding that tormenting spirit so completely that the thing could not even breath, let alone attack.
It fell down and looked dead before vanishing... utterly defeated.
In the dream my loved one began to vomit black demons as I prayed. This dream was from the year 2001 before I ever heard anything about people throwing up demons when getting deliverance.
In real life this loved one was set free from alcoholism not long after this encounter. I had been fervently interceding for her for a long time.
This was a prophetic dream. It was a real demon & a real encounter. And it reveals several interesting things... you can actually combat demons in dreams and gain victory that way. Dreams are not always in the mind... they are portals and places to the spiritual realm. The Bible says that God, angels and demons can literally ENTER a person's dream. 50% of our life is spent in dreams... trust me, they are important.
This dream also confirms the absolute authority we have over evil spirits. . Jesus said, "I give you authority to trample snakes & scorpions & over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Luke 10:19
When we know our God & our identity in Christ, we will walk in great authority.
You do not have to fear the devil or the powers of darkness. Jesus Christ has given His people authority over the enemy through His name. Demons tremble at the authority of Christ in a believer who knows their identity in Him. You were not called to live intimidated, oppressed, or defeated, but to stand boldly in faith, help set captives free, and resist the works of darkness. The enemy may roar, but he is already defeated through Jesus Christ.
But if you do not understand your identity, walk in sin, and live in fear of the devil, he has access to attack. So STAND IN FAITH, CLEANNESS, COURAGE AND UNDERSTANDING and you will have great victory. You are clothed in the authority of God... believe it... darkness must bow to the name of Jesus.
