HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW

A few days ago I was overwhelmed by the news, and worrying about our future. I worried about our safety, our finances, and so on. I prayed and prayed about this. Not long after, my husband came home with a battered sparrow, and the answer to my prayer.

This sparrow fledgling had landed itself in a bin of oil and slimy water at my husband's new job. He rescued it. He pulled it out of the mire when he heard it crying and screaming. He brought it to me to restore it to health. I fell instantly in love with it, and tenderly cared for it.

As I cleaned and fed it, I heard these words so loud in my mind: "HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW". Then God spoke a powerful message to me about my own worries...

"As My eye is on even the sparrow, My eye is on you. I hear the cry of the sparrow. It cries to Me and I feed it. I calls to Me for help, and I help it... how much more will I care for My own child who cries out to Me for help? Call to Me in your day of trouble, and I will answer. I will feed you. I will clothe you. I will provide for you. As you care for this sparrow, so I care for you."

Matthew 10:29... "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Needless to say, I will be painting Jesus with His eyes on a sparrow soon!

And our little sparrow is doing wonderful. More pictures coming soon.

If you are carrying fear, stress, or uncertainty today, remember this: the same God who watches over the sparrow is watching over you. He sees every tear, hears every prayer, and knows every need before you even speak it. You do not have to live in fear of tomorrow. God is faithful. He is your protector, your provider, and your Father. The storm may rage around you, but you are safely held in His hands. If His eye is on the sparrow, His eye is surely on you.

Matthew 6:26-34... "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
