There is incredible power in worship and song... One night I had a battle. I was being bombarded spiritually. Warfare was heavy. I didn't feel like a warrior. I struggled to even remember my identity in Christ. All I felt was weakness, worry, lack of faith and fear breathing down my neck.
Then I finally got fed up with the enemy's threats and attacks, and I grabbed my bible in one hand, and my guitar in the other and started walking down the hall to the bathroom, where I planned on locking myself in to pray, worship, read the Word and play the guitar prophetically over myself, and my family, esp my son until there was some kind of breakthrough.
As I walked down the hallway, the Lord did something different... He took a picture of me in that moment and showed me the image in my mind.
There I was walking down the hall with the Word of God in one hand, and the guitar (symbolizing praise/worship) in the other. And God said to me, "THAT IS WHAT A MIGHTY WARRIOR LOOKS LIKE!"
I was surprised, relieved, and encouraged. I remembered in that moment that you don't have to feel like a warrior to be a warrior, you just have to act like a warrior to be a warrior.
The defining characteristic of a warrior is not what they feel, but what they do. I was walking to face my enemy in battle with a weapon in both hands, despite the spiritually provoked anxiety I was feeling. This makes a warrior.
I don't say these things with any kind of pride whatsoever. I'm being vulnerable and transparent to give God glory and to encourage someone else out there who feels weak and afraid and currently walking through a battle this way. I want you to see what God did for me, because He can do the same for YOU.
I began to play the guitar. God told me years ago to buy a guitar and play it unto Him. So I did, and I discovered that when I do, He speaks to me prophetically, I see visions in the Spirit, the gift of faith activates, and He gives me prophetic songs to sing over my situations which usually bring breakthrough...
My guitar is a weapon.
As I began to play, immediately I saw a great mountain standing before me. That was the only thing I saw. But as I continued playing the guitar, the Holy Spirit ministered truth to my spirit about His power over that mountain, and my victory in Him. Faith increased. Fear weakened. And I could finally foresee that mountain exploding.
I came out of that session stronger, encouraged, and felt the intensity of the spiritual attack BREAK.
Today I read a few words from a message someone sent me, "I AM the Breaker, and I go before you."
Immediately, the Holy Spirit pressed those words on me. He was saying them to me personally as I read them. Then I saw in the Spirit...
I saw the very near future... I saw God going before me. He broke the mountain I saw in the vision TO PIECES because I chose to worship in the storm and stand on His Word.
Maybe YOU are facing a battle today. Don't give up. Rise up! You don't need a guitar, just your voice, and the Bible. Worship Jesus. Sing God's Word against the mountain you are facing, and make it break apart. Prophesy over your situation and make it submit to the will of God. Faith activates power. Shout in faith. Sing in faith. Declare His Word. Victory will be yours
